How does the program work?  You begin the program by completing the 250 page Ultimate Math Refresher workbook.  This comprehensive math review will teach and drill you on basic concepts in arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.  You then learn to apply these concepts, and other advanced strategies, to the problem solving and data sufficiency questions on the GMAT.  Next you will complete the 175 page Ultimate Verbal and Vocabulary Builder workbook.  This book has been designed to review the basic verbal skills and vocabulary you will need to take the GMAT.  After completing these two workbooks you will then complete The Ultimate Prep for the GMAT – A Systematic Approach textbook.  This 464 page textbook is crammed with examples, drills, diagrams, practice questions and a three full-length simulated GMATs that covers the following subject areas:

Test-Taking Strategy.  Introduces strategies designed to increase your speed and accuracy on the GMAT.

Problem Solving I and II.  In depth instruction and review of basic arithmetic, algebra and geometry.  This section will introduce our unique approach to the mathematics portion of the GMAT.  Our carefully designed drills give you "hands on" experience doing GMAT problems under timed conditions.  Each practice drill is carefully explained in detail.

Reading Comprehension.  Treats reading passages as arguments.  Introduces active reading and time management in reading comprehension.

Logical Reasoning.  Presents short arguments as puzzles.  You learn to identify assumptions and conclusions in order to improve your accuracy on this question type.

Sentence Correction.  A careful review of grammar and sentence construction helps you select the most effective expression.  You learn to detect awkward, redundant or ambiguous expressions.

Word Relationships.  Focuses on sentence completions, analogies, and antonyms.  You will learn to analyze the relationships between words before making your answer selection.

Analytical Writing.  You learn to construct concise and effective essays under difficult time constraints.  Explains the use of "issue spotting" to develop clear, persuasive essays.

Data Sufficiency.  Advanced instruction and strategies for this important GMAT mathematics question type.  Focused practice drills hone your skills.

What about the new computerized GMAT?  The GMAT can be taken in certain non-USA countries in the standard paper-and-pencil format as well as a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT).  In the USA the GMAT is only administered in CAT format.  The Lighthouse Review program will prepare you for either paper-and-pencil or CAT test formats.
